Uncle Dick's Children Memories January 23, 2011

We are truly sorry about  your Dad passing. He will surely be missed by all. We  have our special memories, which we will treasure  for many years. The tribute to your Dad was beautiful. Just know that you are in our hearts and prayers.

   Love,

 Your Cousins,

Judy, Skip, Dick, Ron Mackey and our Families

Carole A. Mackey In Quiet Contemplation January 19, 2011

Daily, he was in bed or in a chair

Offering very little communication

Alone or when someone stood near,

He seemed in quiet contemplation.

The years had done a grand disservice

To the great man that he once was . . .

Yet, Uncle Dick gave his all nonetheless,

Expecting little or no applause.

A brilliant man . . . a loving soul . . .

Could fill volumes with his know-how.

But, the frailness of a body growing old

Eclipsed his true self into a shadow.

Our proud family acknowledged his every value . . .

The lifetime of commitment unfolded in such a loving way.

While friends and neighbors, tried and true,

Willingly gave their support throughout every brand new day.

Fortune had always escaped Dick's clutch,

Though toil brought him a wealth of its own.

His beloved siblings had loved him so much

And that love had grown and grown.

Like treasured gems, his devoted children were priceless,

And their reflections were in his eyes.

by all accounts, his life was a grand success,

In addition, he was genuine and wise.

God's angels prepared a worthy dwelling

So he could savor the Eternal rest.

Surely there is joy that goes without telling

As the heavens greet their guest.

In loving memory of Richard F. Mackey (Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Friend, Proud American).  Promoted to heaven on January 11, 2011.  He shall fly to heaven on Eagles' wings with his daughter-in-law, Linda, by his side. She was called by her Creator on January 13, 2011 to make the journey a bit easier to take for both of them.  May their souls rest in the peace of the Lord.

Beloved brother of Peg, Allie, Tess, and Rita, Ned, and Jim, (who survive him) and his late brother, Joe (waiting to greet him at Heaven's Gate alongside Nanny, Grampy, Frank Casazza, Joe Keefe, Tom Berube, Donald Dee, Paul O'Brien, Ginny Mackey and Rita (Silick) Mackey with her grandson Michael McNiff).  Loving and Proud father of Dennis, Steve, Penny, Mary Beth, Theresa and his "angel" Betsy (joining her family to welcome him and Linda with hugs and kisses).  Grandfather to 15, Great-Grandfather to 12, Beloved Friend of Gloria, Beloved Uncle of many nieces and nephews who will miss him.

Thanks for the memories . . . Uncle Dick.  There will be a grand Mackey reunion beyond compare taking place between our shared worlds.  That is the nature of the Clan called Mackey and it will live on forever.

Gloria and the Mackey Family,

I am so sorry for your loss.  Dick was "my old guy" and I was "the kid".  He was a great man and will always hold a special place in my heart.  I will miss him every day.

Just know he is that special angel looking over everyone.

Rest in peace Dick.

Love,

Cheryl

Mackey Family Sorrow January 15, 2011

Dear Mackey Family,

I am trully sorry to hear that Mr Marckey (as we called him) passed away. The Creator needed him for some special project as he needed both my parents in 2008 (my mom) and 2009(my dad).

In case you do not know who I am, I was once married to Gloria's son George, my daughters are Bonnie and Diane. I remember when Your Dad and Gloria first started courting. They were always going here and there for Navy special occasions. They always seemed to be happy together.

This memorial page you have put together is a great testiment of the love you had for your Dad.
